Damien Blake has been trying to be a renowned film director ever since they left school. They start their journey with their three best friends, a bleak outlook of society and a desire to create something important. They end their journey with only one of these things. Set against the background of rising university fees and rising university pressures, Scenic Reality is about the trials and fears behind moving into the real world and how some of us desperately try to avoid it.
Scenic Reality will get its first public rehearsed reading on the 27th April 2018 3PM at The Hope Theatre, Islington. Cast
Patricia graduated from The Actors’ Training Company at City Lit last year and has a first class honours in Drama, Applied Theatre and Performance from UEL. Recent credits include: Jennifer in Curse of the Lost Tomb at Chessington World of Adventures, Amber in I’ll Follow You at Hammersmith Lyric (which she also wrote), Antonia in Twelfth Night, Sibyl in Separate Tables and Kaitlyn in Starfish (also written by J. B. Pichelski). Patricia has also performed spoken word at The Roundhouse and 100 Club and is a comedian & singer-songwriter. She is very excited to be working with Julian and Sam again.
With experience working both on stage and on screen, Amy has been acting from a very young age; passing all her Trinity acting and musical theatre exams up to grade 8 with distinctions before the age of 18. Her previous work includes performing jobs for BBC, Channel 4 and Empire Films, as well as working as a full time actor at the London Dungeon, playing over 16 different characters from London’s gruesome past.
Charlotte trained at Italia Conti Academy and recently became a part of an improvisation company, Third Person Theatre, who regularly perform at The Bread and Roses. Prior to this her theatre credits include: Trude in Inking – Workshop (Pitgems Theatre Company), Adriana in The Comedy of Errors (The Complete Works), Ensemble in Dick Whittington (BBC Pantomime), Ensemble in Cinderella (BBC Pantomime) and Molly in Annie (UK Tour). Charlotte has also appeared in the following films: Rachel in A Rose is Worth a Thousand Words (C.O.S. Motions), Rowena in Call Back (City Lit) and she was also a part of episode 2 – Eviction for the web series Act or Die.
Brodie Husband is a young, aspiring actor from North London. He recently graduated from the foundation course at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and having previously taken numerous roles in youth theatre, such as Caliban in The Tempest and Giles Corey in The Crucible. He is now looking to further his development to give him the best chance in his chosen career of resting between jobs. When he’s not acting, Brodie is also performing as a guitarist with a particular passion for grunge music. Brodie played the roles of Grumio and Sampson in The Taming of The Shrew and Romeo and Juliet at the 2017 Pendley Shakespeare Festival.

Samantha Wright: Director
Samantha Wright is co-founder of New Room Theatre, which focuses on new writing. She wrote and directed their first play, Are You Happy Now, which went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011. She was dramaturg on their second play Blackout which premiered in the Arches in Glasgow in 2012 and has since gone on to have a Creative Scotland funded tour. In 2013 she directed two plays: Momentum by Rob Drummond and Rhythm co-written by and starring Sarah Barron. She is director and co-writer of Stagefright which has had a Creative Scotland funded development in 2016. She has done director training with Mike Alfreds on Chekhov and on The Winter’s Tale. Samantha is also an actor.
J. B. Pichelski: Playwright
J. B. Pichelski is a playwright and filmmaker based in North London, and has participated in several playwriting showcases including City Lit’s Page to Stage at the Lyric Hammersmith in London with the short play Starfish, which went on to be performed at the Courtyard Theatre. More recently, J. B. has co-written and co-directed a short film, Sam, which will be entered into film festivals throughout the year. J. B. is currently working on a trilogy of short plays around the working theme of ‘Love for the benefit of the 3rd person.’ For more information about J. B. Pichelski, click here.
